Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about OpsVelo for airline administrators and crew.

General

What is OpsVelo?

OpsVelo is a secure, internal airline operations platform with a web dashboard for operations teams and an iPad app (CrewAssist) for crew. It covers duty reporting, roster viewing, flight packages, document access, safety reporting, and more. It is not a public consumer app — it is designed exclusively for authorised airline personnel.

Is the app available on the App Store?

No. The CrewAssist iPad app is distributed internally through a secure enterprise installation flow tied to your airline workspace. It is not on the App Store or TestFlight. This ensures that only authorised airline personnel can access the app.

Which devices are supported?

The crew app is designed for iPad with iPadOS 16.0 or later. It works on iPhone as well, but iPad is the primary target with optimised sidebar navigation and a larger layout. The web dashboard works on any modern desktop browser.

Installation

How do I install the iPad app?

Log in to the OpsVelo install page with your airline credentials, then tap the install button. After downloading, you may need to trust the enterprise developer certificate in your iPad settings. See the deployment guide for full step-by-step instructions.

Why does it say "Untrusted Enterprise Developer"?

This is normal for enterprise-distributed apps. Go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management on your iPad, find the enterprise certificate, and tap "Trust". This only needs to be done once per device.

Data & Security

Can other airlines see my data?

No. OpsVelo uses complete multi-tenant isolation. Each airline's data is stored in its own logical workspace and there is no mechanism for cross-airline data access — including for the operations team.

Can I use the app offline?

Yes. Documents and manuals that have already been synced are stored locally on the iPad and remain available without internet. You'll need connectivity to sync new content, submit safety reports, and check in for duty.

What is logged for audit?

Login attempts, file downloads, sync events, role changes, and administrative actions are logged with timestamp, user, and IP. The audit trail is available to your airline's administrators and helps meet regulatory requirements.

Administration

How do I add new users?

In the web dashboard, go to Users → Create User. Fill in the user's name, email, employee ID, and assign one or more roles (Pilot, Cabin Crew, Engineer, etc.). Set their status to Active and they can sign in to the iPad app immediately.

How do I upload documents?

In the dashboard, go to Documents → Upload. Select the file, choose a category (manuals, notices, training, etc.), set a version, and pick targeting — role, department, or base — so the right crew see it. Toggle "Published" to make it available on iPad.
